  1. THE BULGARIAN EXPERIENCE ABOUT THE VIDEO CONFERENCES

DURING THE PROJECT WERE HELD VIDEO CONFERENCES BETWEEN BULGARIA AND OTHER PARTNER COUNTRIES. FOR THIS PURPOSE, PARTICIPATED THE LARGE GROUPS OF PUPILS
DURING THE VIDEO CONFERENCE PUPILS FELT HIMSELF HAPPY TO COMMUNICATE WITH UNFAMILIAR PUPILS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES TO LOOK AT THE VIDEO WALL AND DANCE BULGARIAN DANCES
PREVIOUSLY WE HAD PREPARED A QUESTIONNAIRE TO HELP WITH COMMUNICATION
THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WERE - HI, WHAT'S YOUR NAME?WHAT KIND OF SPORT DO YOU LIKE?DO YOU HAVE ANY ANIMAL?
THE CHILDREN WERE VERY HAPPY AND WITH MANY EMOTIONS SHARED WITH THEIR FAMILIES HOW THEY MET AND TALKED WITH CHILDREN ON OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES
IT WAS A VERY SUCCESSFUL FORM OF COMMUNICATION IN WHICH ALL CHILDREN FEEL LIKE PART OF THE BIG EUROPEAN FAMILY
IT WAS PART OF OUR PROJECT NATURE TRAILS , NATURE TALES

  2. The Finnish experience about the video conferences
During our Comenius project “Nature tails, Nature trails” we held four video meetings via Skype with each of our parner schools. The goal for the video meetings was to encourage our pupils to use their English skills and get to know the pupils from different countries. In each meeting about ten pupils at the time got the chance to ask and answer to question which were mostly concerning about the everyday life in our countries. Most of our pupils found the video meetings exiting and interesting. Every one of those who got chance to take part told that the meetings were definitely helpful for them to develop their language skills. They learned that the communication in foreign language is not trying to avoid mistakes but to make your self understood. The finnish people are quite shy and afraid of mistakes. I belive that these conferences were really ice breakers to use the English language for most of our pupils.
The dates of our video meetings:
    England: 28th of November 2013
    France: 10th of December 2013
    Bulgaria: 14th of Janyary 2014
    Poland: 19th of February 2014

  3. Polish children's experience about video conferences.
"I liked talking to peers from different countries because I could practise my English. It was a new experience for me and it was very funny." (Olga)

"I really loved it although there were some interferences during the conversation. It was pleasure to meet all these people online." (Roksana)

"Great chance to make friends online. It was super when I could meet some of the people I talked to when they visited Poland. I'd like to do it again." (Milosz)

"I enjoyed it much. I had never seen so many smiling faces speaking English before. An awesome English, social, and cultural lesson. Personally, I got better at digital stuff. Thank you all for perfect cooperation. Take care and good luck." (Urszula - a teacher)

  4. English Pupils Views On Videoconferencing Experiences

Throughout the project, we held video conferences with all the countries in our partnership. In a way, this was a very easy part of the project for us as the conferences were all in English, which is our natural language. However, we were so amazed at how well children from other countries were able to speak English.
During the conferences we used questions that had been prepared beforehand to find out things that we wanted to know about other people’s countries and culture. As we spoke, we had somebody who was scribing the answers to our questions. When we finished, we added the information to a book that we created for our school library. This book told other people the things we had found out.
We were really happy with the videoconferencing – it was so exciting to do and we loved seeing children that we had seen before on exchange visits. It was a great way of communicating with others and we were fascinated with how quickly we could link with people in other places.
